Hotel rooms often stop at four, so a family of five is handed two keys - often not adjoining, sometimes floors apart. We only list accommodation where the whole family sits behind a single front door. More than one room is fine. A corridor between them is not.

Five bedrooms in a villa, a suite with two, a connecting pair with the door left open - all fine. Rooms separated by a public hallway are not. That is our test.
A parent shouldn't need shoes and a keycard to reach a child, or to be separated from the support of another parent. Behind your front door, they don't.
Some hotels say they will try to put you close, and close is not connected. We confirm how a place actually joins up - and remove them if it isn't honoured.
